IV Bolus - Example 1

Question: What is the concentration of drug 0, 2 and 4 hours after a dose of 500 mg. Known pharmacokinetic parameters are apparent volume of distribution, V is 30 liter and the elimination rate constant, kel is 0.2 hr-1

Answer: Use Equation 5.11.1 to calculate the required concentrations

Cp as a function of time

Equation 5.11.1 Concentration as a Function of Time

Thus:

Cp at time 0 hours

Cp at 2 hours

Cp at 4 hours

Try your own calculation

IV Bolus Dose:
Apparent Volume of Distribution: Cannot be zero
Elimination Rate Constant:
Time since IV Dose:

The answer Cpt is:

If you get the Error Message Value is not a numeric literal or NaN this probably means that one of the required parameter fields is empty or a value is inappropriate.
