Finger Print Method - Example 3

The Laplace equation for amount of drug in body according to the two compartment model after an IV bolus (Dose) can be written as:

Note that the denominator has a power of 2 in s and no repeating terms. The numerator has a power of 1 in s. Therefore the fingerprint method can be applied.

Setting the denominator to zero:

(s + α) * (s + β) = 0

gives the two roots -α and -β.
