Student Objectives for this Chapter
- To describe the various routes by which a drug may be
excreted from the body
- To understand the parameter renal clearance and its relationship with excretion processes in the kidney
- To understand the influence of renal disease on drug
elimination
- To calculate suitable drug dosage regimen for patients with impaired
renal function
The major routes included will be renal, biliary, pulmonary, and salivary.
