Hi,
Does anybody know or have experience with serotonin/ serotonin
analogs or agonist in tissue culture?
Serotonin is a very unstable compound (under physiological conditions).
I am looking for an analog/agonist or precursor that is more stable
in tissue culture media.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
I am looking at these compounds for the moment:
5-carboxamidotryptamine maleate(agonist)
2-methyl-5-hydroxytriptamine hydrochloride( agonist)
alpha-methyl-5-hydroxytriptamine maleate.(agonist)
I thank you for your attention to this matter.

Are you talking about instability in solution or instability due to
metabolism?
To protect against metabolism, include enzyme inhibitors (this is standard
in in vitro studies of transport-- you can find favored compounds and
concentrations in the literature).

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response.
My problem is instability of serotonin in solution.
I need a compound/analog, agonist of serotonin that is stable in solution.
I am not doing metabolic studies.
Thank you again
