To the group,
We are assaying a compound in rat, human and dog plasma (plasma spiked with
the compound). In dog and human plasma the compound elutes as a nice single
peak. However, in rat plasma another peak appears just before the compound
peak. It seems that adding ascorbic acid reverses that to a single peak
indicating an oxidation in rat plasma. Does anybody know of any
information/reference regarding the composition differences in the plasma
of different animal species?
Thank you all for your response.
