Hi there!
I am currently trying to study patchable drug onto the mucous membrane.
And before start to examine in the human subject, I want to study in dogs.
When I was trying to maintain it on the oral mucosa it was ended with
failure, they ate it.
Is there anybody who have tried things like this?
Please let me know how I can fix it there until the drug is absorbed completely.
Are there any bandage or tape which can withstand on the mucosal surface with
minimum uncomfortability to animals?
Do you know the name of the company that sells the material?
Please let me know the name, FAX number, address and the name of
the product, if possible.
.... sincerely yours,
Won Yong Lee, D.V.M., M.Sc.

I'm afraid you'll have to prepare your patches. There is a nice and
exhaustive book on the subject: "Bioadhesive drug delivery systems", V.
Lenaerts and R. Gurny, Eds., CRC Press (1990). Some chapters are
expressly dedicated to bioadhesive patches for buccal/gingival administration.
Good luck!
