  I am a Pharmacist whose ancestor, Dr. Hans Kiersted, was the first
surgeon of the Dutch West india Co. to come to New Amsterdam (Manhattan)
ca 1638.   His compound, Kiersted's ointment was a product apparently
used well into the early 19th century.
  For historical purposes, can anyone please tell me what was in it, or
where to find out what was in it.
