I wonder if there is a spectrophotometric method to calculate the stability
constant of a 1:2 complex iron+2ligands) . Talking about a complex with a
lambda max at 569
Any ideas or references
Thank you

The use of spectrophotmetry to determine multiple stability constants is
fully discussed in Ch. 4 of Connors, KA, Binding Constants, Wiley
Interscience New York (1987). In this chapter, Connors states that
spectrophotometry "is not in general a very powerful means for studying
multiple equilibria". He recommends that non-linear regression be used to
evaluate the changes in absorbance for various concentrations that arise
due to the presence of other than simple 1:1 equilibria, rather than any
other approach.
