Finger Print Method - Example 1

The differential equation for amount of drug in body according to the one compartment model after a single oral dose (F * Dose) can be written as:

Note that the denominator has a power of 2 in s and no repeating terms. The numerator has a power of 0 in s. Therefore the fingerprint method can be applied.

Setting the denominator to zero:

(s + ka) * (s + kel) = 0

gives the two roots -ka and -kel.
